As stated in my previous post about consistent structre it is ideal to set structure in your house hold with any dog small, large, old or young. Most dogs see you as the authority figure if you do so properly they will respect you and others. It may be something as simple as a boundry line in the kitchen, bathroom, or closet. Setting ground rules can save you lots of time, money or even your dogs life. Below is a video of my past client who rescued a poodle mix from the shelter. After a Month and a half they notice several unruly behavior that just can not be ignored. She would rush back and forth jumping on the door and people. In the video you will see the improved Winnie and how you can correct your dog with out punishment when the dog bell rings. Now this is only a month of practice but with consistency at ever door bell ring both unexpected and expected you can modifiy bad behavior and stop dogs from rushing out the door. Poodles are very smart and just like any dog they need firm, consistent structure. Press play below I hope you enjoy and most of all I hope you learn.
