This Post is a continuation from Social Hour so we will continue to discuss socialization, and the importance, as well as so do's and don'ts.
Is your dog or puppy real trained, if not its ok im here to help with any questions and show you how. Dog training isn't just about give commands, treats, corrections, and make snakes sounds. A lot of the time your dog is ignoring you, learning and mastering your behavior and emotional state, and playing you like a flute. I like to say are you training your dog or is your dog training you?
Dogs and kids are a unique combination! They can go together or
against each other just depends on the understanding that both has for one another. With any relationship it takes, trust, understanding, patients, and knowing a little about each other. Which both kids and puppy or dogs may not quite fully understand without proper guidance, and someone to walk them through it.
Dog fitness is no joke! Every dog from a Teacup Yorkie to a Great Dane needs fitness and exercise. Dogs have Joints, Tendons, Ligament, and Muscles that are not being worked lying up in our homes. Dogs are wild animals, carnivores to be exact they got their work out from hunting their prey. Fast forward to present day supper markets their prey is a food bowl. Fifteen minutes a day, every day is a great way to start and build stamina to last for hour workouts
Most pet owner won't have as much time as a dog trainer would to effectively handle a hyperactive dog. But setting small goals daily is just the same and will help for puppies learning and developing skills.
As stated in my previous post about consistent structre it is ideal to set structure in your house hold with any dog small, large, old or young. Most dogs see you as the authority figure if you do so properly they will respect you and others. It may be something as simple as a boundry line in the kitchen, bathroom, or closet. Setting ground rules can save you lots of time, money or even your dogs life. Below is a video of my past client who rescued a poodle mix from the shelter. After a Month and a half they notice several unruly behavior that just can not be ignored. She would rush back and forth jumping on the door and people. In the video you will see the improved Winnie and how you can correct your dog with out punishment when the dog bell rings. Now this is only a month of practice but with consistency at ever door bell ring both unexpected and expected you can modifiy bad behavior and stop dogs from rushing out the door. Poodles are very smart and just like any dog they need firm, consistent structure. Press play below I hope you enjoy and most of all I hope you learn.
The idea of setting the bar for your dog isn't on the mind of most pet owners. They are quite content with their dog cuddling with them after a stressful day. As a trainer, thoughts of catching issues before they develop has crossed my mind on several stubborn dogs I've worked with. If only I was there when the dog was a pup to shape and develop good behavior.

Challenging your dog is a great way to give them that extra push they need, building stronger bonds, and tiring their mind. The challenge expected from your dog should always be simple yet challenging.
Whether you want to or not you both could use the extra walk around the block why not have some fun doing it? Exercise is a great way to bond with your dog, keep you both healthier and happier, burn off stress for both of you, get the mental juices flowing, and more!
As we all know dogs are animals that live amongst society. So they are expected to uphold some kind of civilized behavior. A civilized dog will act in a manor that is apealing to both you and society. Unruly behavior is unexceptable and should be modified accordingly to change, redirect, and or condition to a more positive behavior.
Socializing your dog is a on going thing, that doesn't end after puppyhood. If you plan on having a dog then prepare for the things you will encounter with a dog. It is very important to start early with large, hearding, and powerful breeds.
As we all know dogs are wild animals and a current type of care should be taken to live in peace and harmony with each other. Some instinct of the wild wolf are still residing in domestic dogs today. With that being said they have strong drives and weak drives. Some house dogs are independent whereas others are the masters of shadowing you. Those dogs that have a independent personality have a weaker pack drive then those that love to be around you and get your attention.
Like all art, Grooming takes time, effort and a lot of glam! I have been working as a bather for a month and a half now. I am learning the art of grooming, as well as the groomers obedience trainer for their clients. So far I have learned a few things like the wash cycle of dogs, and why once a month wash is need, as well as nail clipping tips. I know I am not the only dog owner who hates to clip nails.
The MVP in the Grooming salon are the bathers! Yes the bathers, they are generally the first person to handle the dog next to the receptionist. The groomers a key but with out a bather they would have to wash, dry, brush/comb, and more before they actually start the cutting process. As important of a proper cut, you will most defiantly need a proper bath. If the dog is still wet, has soap or conditioner, or is not brushed out well another bath will be need to allow the hair to set in a way for the perfect cut.
Stay tuned for ask the groomer! where frequently ask questions will be answered and more!
Everyone knows dogs love to eat food as much as people do. But everyone may not know what dogs can not eat. Did you know that oats are great for both dogs and cats? Well they are! High in protein, soluble fiber, iron and much more. One thing I think is the most wonderful benefits of oats are when digested, not topical it acts as a digestive aid calming the intestinal tract which can be very helpful for the
Now we all know dogs need to eat that's a given, but do we all know that dogs know the difference between a structured person and an unstructured person. The key to a successful relationship with your fur-baby is consistent structure whether you want a show dog or a house dog the same rules apply.
